The snub heard across the industry
Iyabo Ojo Premiere · Lagos
Funke Akindele Ignores Toyin Abraham’s Greeting — Twice — at Return of Arinzo Premiere

What was billed as Iyabo Ojo’s big directorial debut night at Balmoral Event Centre turned into Nollywood’s most-talked-about moment of 2026 so far. In a clip now viral across every platform, Toyin Abraham approached Funke Akindele’s table, touched her arm, and leaned in — for over five full seconds. Akindele looked away. A second attempt fared no better.

By midnight, Abraham had unfollowed Akindele on Instagram and posted — then deleted — a vow never to greet her again. Akindele reciprocated with an unfollow of her own. The feud, which had appeared to soften in September 2025, has been violently reset.

Rivalry Timeline

Sep 2025
Warm public interaction sparks reconciliation hopes. Akindele defends both from body-shaming.
29 Mar 2026 🔴
