🚨 Crisis Watch: Nigerian Domestic Airlines — April 20 Shutdown Deadline

Aviation fuel prices have increased by over 300% since the Hormuz war began — from about ₦900 per litre to about ₦3,300 per litre — while international crude prices have seen only about a 30% increase over the same period. The AON says airline revenues are now insufficient to cover fuel costs alone. If the trend persists, all airlines in Nigeria will be compelled to suspend operations effective Monday, April 20, 2026. At least one carrier already suspended operations on March 13. President Tinubu, VP Shettima and Minister Keyamo were all copied on the notice.
